Custom installations could range from a flat panel mounted above a fireplace to a fully-equipped games room, or from a pair of outdoor speakers to a full outdoor poolside theatre. They could be to share music through a home or to provide ambient music throughout your business. Quite simply, it's a matter of putting the audio and video where and how you want it, no matter how challenging it may be.

Melissa's Living Room

The Challenge: Assemble a simple, high-quality 2-channel A/V system using existing components.

When Melissa moved into her new home, LTI provided the following for the living room:

  • 60″ Pioneer Elite plasma, mounted above fireplace
  • Totem Tribe III speakers, mounted on each side of the plasma
  • Installation and initial setup of Melissa's existing components

Pete’s Living Room

The Challenge: Create a stylish second zone using components from the home theatre downstairs.

Tied into the home theatre downstairs, the following is the 'zone 2' system in the living room upstairs:

  • 50″ Pioneer Elite plasma, mounted on wall
  • Yamaha RXV1065 receiver (home theatre preamplifier)
  • Emotiva USP-1 analog preamplifier
  • Emotiva UPA-2 power amplifier
  • Totem Model 1 Signature speakers
  • Yamaha DVD-S1700 DVD player
  • BEV 9200 HD PVR (shared with downstairs)
  • BEV 6100 HD receiver (exclusive to upstairs)

Bill’s Living Room

The Challenge: Install an LCD TV above a fireplace where the wall is floor-to-ceiling, wall-to-wall stone.

The complexity of this installation was getting the cables from behind the TV to the components in the stand — difficult because the floor-to-ceiling stone was installed before the cables could be pre-wired. And to make matters worse, the opening left by the stone layers for mounting a bracket was far too small for any off-the-shelf brackets. LTI fabricated a custom bracket for the job, and the resulting installation could not have been tighter!

Joyce’s PA System

The Challenge: Put togethera PA system worthy of a rock band, but portable and easy to use.

Following a home theatre installation at their family cottage (see Rampton Cottage above), Joyce wanted an audio system for the budding musicians in the family. Although inter-connectable with their home theatre, LTI provided an extremely portable, easy-to-use PA system that they now take along everywhere — to the cottage, to the neighbours' house, even to church! The system includes:

  • 10-channel powered mixer
  • 2 high-performance 10″ 2-way Passive Speakers (with storage in the back of each speaker for the mixer and cables for travel!)
  • 2 Shure SM58 (the industry standard) microphones
  • Plus all stands and cables

Lock 17’s PA System

The Challenge: Supply a house PA system to satisfy everything from a one-man-show up to a full rock band.

Along with a host of other systems, LTI provided the a full PA System for live bands at Lock 17, including the following components:

  • Yorkville 2×400W 10-channel powered mixer
  • 2× Yorkville 200W 12″ passive speakers
  • Yorkville 200W 12″ powered speaker (monitor)
  • Yorkville 200W 10″ powered subwoofer
  • 3× Shure SM58 microphones

  • 2× 4-can LED light bars w. chase and foot controllers

The Challenge: To bring this heritage building to modern standards.

LTI's contributions to this beautifully restored heritage building:

  • Dual-zone monitored alarm system
  • Phone, cable, and network wiring
  • Custom office audio/video installation

East Side Marios

The Challenge: Quick, secure installation in a busy restaurant environment.

LTI installed three LCD screens — two 42″ screens suspended from the ceiling and one 19″ screen in the bathroom — so patrons would not have to miss a minute of the big game.

Penny’s Pantry

The Challenge: To advise and provide systems on a modest budget.

Keeping budget constraints in mind for this new small business, LTI provided the following:

  • Laptop computer plus docking station & peripherals
  • Local area network installation
  • Point of Sale system
  • 37″ ceiling-mounted LCD and cable box (for the Food Network, of course!)
  • Receiver and in-ceiling speakers for ambient music
